Hi,
A sudden enlargement of one testicle could possibly be due to hydrocele in which a collection of fluid occurs in the scrotum. If the swelling is associated with pain, it could also be due to acute epididymo-orchitis. I’ll suggest you to consult a urologist and get yourself examined as the treatment will depend upon the underlying cause. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.

Hi,

You have to be a little more specific as there can be many reasons for a testicle to enlarge. Do you experience pain? Does it feel solid or soft? Does it hurt alll the time, or just when it's being touched?

It could be due to a hydrocele. If it involves the complete testicle and there is pain involved, it could be orchitis. If it is the epididimis of the testicle than it can be epididymitis. Both of those can progress to serious infections. If there is a lump on the testicle that does not involve the whole testicle, it could be cancerous.

I know that it is embarrising to go to a doctor for this, but it is your best option. No right diagnosis can be made without consulting with a doctor. I used to come down with epididymitis and orchitis frequently and had to be seen by a doctor on many occasions. Most of the time I ended up in hospital on IV treatment. The one time that I waited too long, I ended up with a staph infection that cost me to loss off my left testicle and was serious enough to end up in intensive care.

Most of the time things can be brought under control if caught early. In a case of cancer, you want to get it taken care of as soon as possible.

All the best.

Ron
