lazy bladder after being catherized

My husband has a catheter in now due to a bladder infection he got while in hospital. Yesterday the foley was removed and a couple of hours later he voided a little so the hospital let him come home. During the night he was no longer able to void so I took him back to hospital where they inserted another catheter. Doctors instructions are to come back in 24 hours and they will remove the foley. My husbad has an enlarged prostate and is worried that this will just end up being another bunch of pain for him and he will end up having to be catherized again. I am getting worried as he also has heart disease and just had a slight heart attack along with bladder infection after his knee replacement surgery. Any advice? Thanks
