The urine tests would look for gonorrhea and chlamydia. Other STDs, like herpes, would not be tested. GU TB can be considered - although this would be an unlikely cause.
Prostatitis can be considered. A rectal exam involving a prostatic massage and analysis of the prostatic fluid can be considered. This can be followed by a transrectal ultrasound to look for any abscesses.
If infection has been ruled out, a cystoscopy can be considered to look for anatomical abnormalities (i.e. a urethral stricture) leading to the symptoms.
