need help with test result

dear doctor,

this is a previous post from STD forum, but since the result is not STD concerned, probably is more appropriate to post it here

my doctor advised me to take another swab test to ease my paranoia. just came back with this result :

coccus gram positive : 3 (few)
diplococcus gram neg (extra) : not found
diplococcus gram neg (intra) : not found

my doctor told me nothing to worry about the coccus gram positive. do you have 2nd opinion to this matter ?

it's been a 8 weeks since last time I had sex and I have no problem while urinating.

my question is, how dangerous is the coccus gram positive bacteria ? do I need any medication since my GP did not give me any. and how did I get it ? is it a normal bacteria in the urethra ?

thank you for your time and answer

Your results are, as your physician has stated, normal. The ends of urethras are not sterile and it is not unusual to find a small number of bacteria ion them. You do not need any treatment for this and there is nothing here that you would be transmitting to a sexual partner.
