i take methotrexate for mycosis fungoides and i developed urinary tract infection with pus cells 18-20 in urinalysis,
is norfloxacin effective for my case and what is the interaction with low dose methotrexate
i stopped my methotrexate a week ago to be able to take the medication for UTI
Though norfloxacin is a suitable antibiotic for most urinary tract infections, it would be difficult to say if it would be a suitable antibiotic in your case without a culture and sensitivity test. Norfloxacin May slightly increase the blood levels of methotrexate and methotrexate may slightly decrease the blood levels of norfloxacin; since the effect is minor in adults, the two medications can be take simultaneously.
Hope this information helps.
