pain at tip of penis

2.5 weeks ago I recieved unprotected oral sex.  Being paranoid, i  got a perscription of azrithromiacin 4 days later.  I then started to feel a slight pain at the tip of my penis and the urge to urinate.  So the next day (5 days after) I went and tested negative for STD's.  My Dr. tested for bacteria and there was some so he gave me lavacin...they also felt my prostate and it felt OK but did not rule out prostatitus or another infection.  5 days later the bacteria was not present in my urine during an exam.  I have been on the lavacin for 15 days and still feel a tingling and a sensation when I need to urinate.  I am paranoid about std's but my dr says I have no reason to think I could have one.  My questions are:

If I took azrithomiacin 4 days later (took it for 3 days) would that rule our certain std's?

Does the lavicin rule out others?

Have you seen similar symptoms and if so what was it?

Sometimes prostatitis can last several weeks and may require extended courses of antibiotics.  A prostatic massage should be done and any fluid expressed sent for culture and analysis.  

Levacin (or Levaquin in the USA) is an appropriate antibiotic for prostatitis.  Sometimes several weeks of therapy may be need.

If the symptoms continue, a cystoscopy can be considered to evaluate for anatomical causes such as a urethral stricture or urethral polyp.
