Most likely that red you notice inside the tip has been like that and it is normal to be that way. No other test can reveal if you have herpes or not. A test to take would be the herpes select, it can determine between type I or type II herpes. Herpes most likely would show itself first as a rash with bumps and then oozing a week or 2 later. Look at some of the photos on the internet. You can get the test at most walk in clinics. Some do it for free and others charge a minimal amount. If you are still not sure go back to your doctor and tell him/her that you want to be checked for herpes as well. It is better to get checked and have to worry day and night about it.
