Hi,
Thanks for writing in. Bleeding from penis on and off itself is not a sign of any veneral disease, but could be due to STD. As, you mentioned that there was no sexual contact, the other cause could be, stones in the urinary tract, urethral rupture, trauma to the penis, urinary tract infections etc.
Was there any trauma or all this started after masturbation? If yes then this could be due to trauma to the penis. Consult a urologist and discuss the above mentioned possibilities.
Best.

My son is 20 years old. He was re/to an Urologist but has the appt. next week. We have never heard of a case like this. He said he has not had sexual intercourse. I appreciate your answer. Is bleeding of the penis a sympton for any of the veneral disease?

Hi,
How are you? It is difficult to say, without physical examination what could have caused bleeding from the penis. What is the age of your child? In children, if uncircumcised upon fore skin retraction, there is a chance of bleeding or permanent damage to the penis.
The other cause could be infections. I would suggest that you visit a urologist for complete work up, confirmation of diagnosis and further advise on treatment.
Best.
