penis sensitivity

I'm 31 years old. I tested positive for herpes in February of this year. I believe I contracted it last year around this time. My question is that I have been a little extra sensitive over the last few months. I can easily ejaculate within a minute. The last time I had sex with my girlfriend, I came 2 times within 3 or 4 minutes. I'm more sensitve under the head of the penis, along the shaft. I've never been this sensitive before. Even during masturbation I get the same results. I did notice that alcohol consumption did help numb the sensation(a little). Is this apart of the herpes? Is this a psychological issue? Or could this be something else medically wrong?

Herpes can lead to an increased penile sensitivity.

You also want to ensure there are no other STDs or diseases present - a urinalysis as well as tests for gonorrhea and chlamydia can be considered to evaluate this.

Dermatitis as well as fungal infection can lead to an increased sensitivity.  If the tests for infection come out negative, you can consider a referral to a dermatologist for further evaluation.

I would not advise alcohol as a means to help with the symptoms.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
