i had ct scan of kidney and bladder and had cystoscopy. i had mri for my back-pain.
results:
ct scan: very small kidney stone and urologist said it is very small and hence does not require treatment with antibiotics.
the radiologist was suspicious about the thickness of bladder and hence urologist said he will do a cystoscopy.
cystoscopy: normal findings
mri for back-pain: minimal bulging in L5S1.
urologist told the problem is prosratitis.
i am not sure if this diagnosis is correct since i think from time to time i have some microscopic blood in urine and burning/pressure to urinate continues in last 2 months. i feel a lot of presssure to urinate after i drink something.
i afraid it is bladder cancer but custoscopy was normal. moreover if it was bladder cancer, psa will not be affected.
in my case psa is a little bit elevated (1.87) and hence, it seems that the problem should be associated to prostate.
i am confused...
Hi Me,
I'm sorry it took so long for you to obtain a response. I'm not sure you're still monitoring our site - or if I can provide the answers you seek.
I do know that Prostate infection (prostatitis) occurs when your prostate and surrounding area become inflamed. It can be difficult to treat and often requires long ATB (antibiotic) therapy. it's painful and can become chronic.
Sometimes Acute infections may require hospitalization.
Prostatitis, can cause high PSA levels, yours is just slightly elevated. Let's face it - we all are concerned about cancer so I understand your concern. However your symptoms do fit all those of Prostatitis.
Anything is possible - but I think your Prostatitis may also be causing your back pain, again it fits.
Return to your Urologist. Keep in close contact with him until this infection is cleared up. You may already be feeling better - I hope so.
Take Care,
~Tuck
