I went to the er. The dr gave me rocefin iv due to my history with pyelo. But then she told me I probably just have the stomach flu. That was a week ago and I still have severe flank pain everyday

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
What you may be having is chronic pyelonephritis and can result in scarring of the renal parenchyma and impaired function, especially in the setting of obstruction. A perinephric abscess (infection around the kidney) and/or pyonephrosis may develop in severe cases of pyelonephritis. Get it evaluated from your nephrologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
