pre ejaculate dripping

by tbirdie, Jul 26, 2005 12:00AM
My wife has been noticing semen in my underwear on numerous occassions. She is concerned that I am having an affair. This is absolutely not the case. I understand that pre-ejaculate dripping is caused by some sort of sexual arousal. I am not aware of any arousal that occurred on the occassions that the semen was in my underwear. I have had a vasectomy, and have an enlarged prostate, with frequent cases of Prostititis. It is occurring during the day, because I have not been wearing the underwear at night. Is it possible to have pre-ejaculate dripping with no conscious sexual arousal.

There will be variation in the amount of pre-ejaculate from patient to patient.  Things like prostatits or an enlarged prostate may affect this.

You can evaluate for infection with a urinalysis as well as a digital rectal exam to evaluate the prostate.

If there continues to be concern, a cystoscopy or transrectal ultrasound can be considered for a more definitive evaluation.

These options can be discussed with your urologist.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
