red vein on my penis

hi,
about 3-4 months ago i was masturbating (quite hard) and then i noticed that straight afterwards there was a red vein on the underside of my penis. it is visible when erect and flacid, and it is really concerning me.
Very recently i have had a pimple on my penis ( a big one) and for a while i have had many many small pimple like bump type things.
any advice or info would be great
thanks

hi,
thank you for your response.
there is no pain what so ever, the vein just appears darker then every other vein on my penis and has a red outline around it. also this is probably just a normal thing but i have recently noticed to brown freckle like things on my penis but lighter and almost look just like skin discoloration.
any extra advice?
thanks

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Having a vein under the penis is normal and does not cause any problem. But if it becomes painful then superficial thrombophlebitis has to be ruled out. It is also called Mondor’s disease and is an inflammatory reaction to a clot within the vein. This subsequently causes blockages and dilation of the vein. It is typically painless, but can be painful.
It can also be then due to penile varicose vein.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
