: I have seen a psychiatrist at a local medical center and have been referred for further evaluation to a Ph.D in  the area of sexual dysfunctions at a larger medical center .  My problem has to do with uncertainty about sexual orientation and/or latent homosexuality. In your opinion is  this the type of specialist I should see.  Thanks.

Dear Mary,
The referral sounds quite appropiate. Such a concern is definitely in the area of psychology and in particular that of someone experienced and comfortable with the issues.
I hope that your confusion and anxiety can be helped rapidly.
