slight nagging intermitting pain in lower scrotum....

I am a 54 year old male who have recent (in the past couple of months) has been engaging in a sexual relation with a much younger woman. Be that, I had been sexually inactive for serveral months. with the assistance of viagra I had been ejacutating quite strongly. Also, during oral sex she was so effective that I probably strain myself even more.

Anyway, this pain, never severe but nagging has been bugging me for about a 5 weeks. My last physical was about a year ago (everything from my psa to my hdl check out wonderful-though my tryglysirides where high--Ive been taking folic acid daily for that) and I have been taking pretty good care of myself. I have a daily regiment of taking sawpalmetto, milk thisle, as well as, varous other natural suppliments. Again this nagging but slight pain comes and goes. Did I strain myself that much? And what is the probability that this will eventually go away. I have not had sex in 2 weeks. I think I can best describe the frequency of this nagging sensation as on and off every couple of hours or so.

Finally, I also have been a scotch and soda drinker (about 4 drinks every evening) for quite some time. Due to a recent bout with a stomach virus that has been going around in my house I having drink since thanks giving night.

Please advise me,

Vincent

Ps. ALso, I pretty careful about what I eat--red meats, salty foods, polyunsaturates, etc. Again, the pain has never gotten severe, just nagging. Especially so since I having been drinking alcohol.

Imaging the scrotum should be done with an ultrasound to rule out a mass, cyst, or cancer.

Infections can also lead to this symptom - and can be evaluated with a urine test, urethral swab, rectal exam to evaluate the prostate, or a transrectal ultrasound.

If the tests continue to be negative, a musculoskeletal cause can be considered and treated appropriately.

A urology referral can be considered for further evaluation.
Followup with your personal physician is essential.
