sling surgery

I had sling surgery for incontinence 2 weeks ago. It will be three weeks tomorrow.  I am dry, which is wonderful.  But, I am sore on my right side and my vagina hurts.  Is this normal?  I am normally a very active person.  I like to run
and that was one of my big problems with incontinence.  I couldn't run anymore because I couldn't control
my bladder.  My question is how slowly do I need to go on increasing what I do?  I went back to the Dr.
this week and he said everything was going good.  He told me I could walk.  But, I don't understand what
else I can do.  I went back to school.  I am a teacher in elementary.  I went back the week after surgery for
l day and was very sore and exhausted so I stayed home the next day and the weekend.  Slept for two days.
Then, I went back to school last week and worked four days.  I had a hectic schedule worked two days 7 to 7.
I was totally exhausted and so sore I stayed home on Friday.  Now, I am up for the next week and I am not
sure how to handle it.  I went out this weekend and tried walking.  I walked about 12 blocks altogether.  Coming
back sore and tired.  Right side and vagina sore.  So I rested again.  Then, I thought I might plant some seeds
because that is not much activity.  I used a hand spade and planted some spring seeds.  Well, that did me in.
I hurt so bad I was afraid I had hurt myself. I rested for a while after that.  Well, I can still feel it today so I am
not doing anything much.  I need some parameters and some suggestions as to what I can and can't do.
Is there a list or a suggestion of ideas or something to help me?  I don't want to hurt the sling surgery.  But,
I don't want to baby myself either.  I know I can't lift.  He said not to lift anything over 6 pounds for 3 months.
He also said not to run for three months.  Does that mean any physical exercise like the elliptical or bicycle
or?  I need help.  If there is some website of list of help, please let me know.  I am trying to follow directions
but I don't have a clear idea of what I can and cannot do.  Is it just related to pain?  The problem is I feel the
pain right after I do whatever I do that makes me hurt.  Please advise.  Thanks for listening.  cathysling

I had the bladder tuck done, it was put in a sling, but cut in front across the front. And just give it time. Mine was done a couple years ago,I was just over 40, it takes a longer than you think, don't push the healing, i ended up infected, and added up another month to hospital bills and no work. lost job and all. Now I don't have to know all the gas stations that let you use the bathrooms, and what ones are clean. Call doctors nurse, she can explain why you have that pain, or maybe some meds.

I had the sling surgery 9 days ago and have had pain when sitting and very bad bruising around the vaginal area and rectum area.  I thought it would be much less painful than it is and I am active as well.  I went back to work 3 days later but have had to wear skirts or dresses as shorts/pants are painful.  Is that normal?
