so many uti's i've lost track. always in pain. HELP?!?

by bethenyxx, Nov 06, 2009 10:10PM
i believe all of my problems started over a year ago with a seemingly normal UTI.
since then, i have had so many UTI's, a few kidney infections that i can't even keep track.
a couple of times i go to the doctor in excruciating pain only to be told i had no sign of infection at all.
i've been on so many rounds of antibiotics it disgusts me. it can't be very good for my health. i always almost get a yeast infection after taking antibiotics because it kills all the good bacteria in my vagina.
i've had ultrasounds, ct scans, blood work constantly and everything checks out fine. i even saw a nephrologist for a potential kidney problem but he said i was as healthy as i could be.
this last time around with my most recent UTI, my doctor told me she had to try and treat it before i could get a referral to a urologist. so she suggested i go on antibiotics for  two weeks. i finished a few days ago. it still hurts to pee. no surprise there. i take one of my UTI home testing kits to test for white blood cells in my urine and immediately, the strip turned colored.
i'm so angry! i can't take this anymore. doctor after doctor has lectured me on how to "wipe from front to back" "pee after intercourse". it's driving me crazy! i'm not a child, i'm not stupid.
i'm discouraged to say the least, like i'm never going to get an answer.
any ideas? i'm pretty desperate here. :[

It is very possible that you have either chronic cystitis or Interstitial Cystitis.  We have a support forum here on medhelp.

http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Interstitial-Cystitis-IC--Pelvic-Pain-Support-Forum/show/412
They also have an expert forum with an IC doctor who is very compassionate toward us here too:

I have IC and am an IC support group leader.  Our site MOARK IC has many articles etc. that might help you as well.  Please check out the medhelp forums for info listed above and let me know if you need
ior would like some more links and info on IC.
