staphylococcus haemolyticus infection

Hi,

I am having infection on the penis tip and also on the skin for the past 1.5months and the culture examination of the puss revealed the infection is caused by staphylococcus haemolyticus. Could someone advise which anti-biotic will help me in sooner recovery? I had Levoflaxacin which supposed to cure it,  but it increased the infection and my doc is hesitant to use the medicines suggested in the culture examination result. Now he had asked me to take the exam test in a different lab and am awaiting results today evening. Would moxiflaxacin help in this problem?? Kindly advise.

Regards,
Raj

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Staphylococcus hemolyticus is resistant to multiple antimicrobial agents even vancomycin. It is multidrug resistant especially to chloramphenicol, fluoroquinlones, co-trimoxazole, erythromycin, oxacillin, ampicillin and penicillin G.

Appropriate antibiotic can be started only after repeat culture sensitivity, the report if which you will be getting soon. Injudicious use of antibiotics by hit and trial method can cause worsening and superimposed fungal infection. So get the antibiotics prescribed by your doctor.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
