tear on penis

for the last few months my husband has experienced discomfort during sex due to the fact that he had a cut on the piece of skin that connects the foreskin to the base of the penis. we came to the conclusion that it was due to heavy thrusting or me not being fully prepared for intercourse. For 2 weeks now we have been using KY jelly and this has fully relieved my husband of the discomfort.
Although, last night during intercourse, my husband noticed a terrible pain and what had happened is, the peice of skin that connected the foreskin to the the head of penis had fully ripped into 2 pieces. He was bleeding quite alot.
I would like to know what would be the next step for my husband to take as he is very self concious about the way his penis now looks? are there any health hazards now that this has occured? would circumsisation be the best thing?
Also, when his penis teared was during intercouse and i have noticed that blood has been appearing in a discharge manner, are there any health concerns for me considering this happened during intercourse without using a condom?

I think that your husband had a rip in the frenulum of his penis. This is the short piece of skin on the underside of his penis that appears almost like a webbing from the head of the penis to the shaft skin or foreskin. This type of tear is not  uncommon. The ripped edges may heal separated from each other and thus need nothing further done. If they grow back together, then I would recommend  that the webbing be surgically divided and stitched to keep the edges separated. This can be combined with a circumcision if he so desires.
I do not think that there is any concern for your health based on what happened to him.. If you have a bloody discharge, then you need to see your gynecologist as this is an unrelated issure.
