my husband was kicked in the testicals by a horseHorse chestnut and the doctor said that it was ruptured what does this mean and does this mean that he can't have kids?
In case of rupture of a vessel to the testicle, then its repair can be considered. If not repaired, this could hamper spermatogenesis in that particular testicle and can affect fertility. Also if some damage has occured, the second testicle is normal and it could help in fertility.
I would suggest that you get a scrotal ultrasound done and take second opinion of a urologist.

How are you? Usually trauma to the testicles can cause hematocele, torsion, atrophy of testicles etc. As you mentioned rupture of testicles, then have they been removed? If no then, I feel it could be rupture of a vessel that is supplying the testicles. In case if it had been rupture of testicles, it would have caused severe pain, bleeding and later on infection and atrophy and would have required surgical removal. But as far I understand from your post nothing of that sort has happened.
