testicular calcification and bilateral hydroceles

by Dan4400, Sep 24, 2009 10:40PM
I have been diagnosed with the above testicular calcification and bilateral hydroceles on my right testes.  There is an obvious discomfort and I am considering surgery.  I am wondering why so many surgeons rejects the idea or surgery.  I am 51 years of age and I am noticing a change on my sexual performance, I know age is a factor but I want to make sure there are no other issues that may create more problems. Thanks for your reply.

Hi,
The remedy for hydrocele is surgery only. Scrotal calcification could be due to 2 reasons. Either it’s due to an old trauma/infection which can get calcified or it could possibly be due to the hydrocele wall getting calcified. The calcification may make the surgery a bit difficult. However, will suggest you to consult a urologist for the same and get yourself operated if he/she is of that opinion. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
