Swelling in the epididymis associated with pain and sensitivity points more toward epididymitis and not to testicular cancer.
Testicular cancer usually presents with a painless, hard, irregular lump that progresses rapidly and causes associated symptoms of weight loss, fatigue, blood in semen, etc.
Another cause for pain in the groin and testes could be an inflammation of the prostate.
If the inflammation of the epididymis or the prostate is secondary to infection, you will be required to go on a course of antibiotics.
Any lump arising from the epididymis can be a cyst or spermatocele.
These are harmless conditions and require no active intervention.
Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
regards,
I was wondering if the epididymis is supposed to be sensitive because the epididymis on my right testicle feels sensitive and sometimes the epididymis on my lest testicle feels sensitive as well.
The epididymis may feel sensitive if handled roughly or in the presence of inflammation.
If there is reflux of semen during ejaculation or an infection of surrounding areas, it is possible for the epididymis to develop inflammation as well.
if the problem resolves after rest or over time, there is no real cause for worry.
You will need to ensure that you maintain fluid intake over 2000 ml per day and ensure hygiene by washing your hands before and after handling your penis.
