urethritis and irrited skin on penis

About 7 months ago I was diagnosed with urethritis and then with a prostate infection and have takin Cipro and Doxocyclen as well.  Over the summer I had a huge problem with itchy skin and irritated skin in my genital region(I also had/have folliculites or staff infection but were told)  The doctor swabbed for herpes and the test was negative and he said I was asymptomatic.  A few days ago I woke up and noticed a small patch of dry skin on the under side of my penis (My girlfriend and I have been sum what sexually active with her masturbating me)  I put some lotion on the area as my doctor prescribed and the dry skin is gone but the area is very irritated to the touch.  I also have a sharp pain in my groin area right next to the pelvis bone or in that area.  My lymph nodes are not swollen and I have no signs of herpes but afer being tested I have a hard time getting the idea out of my mind.  Can you or someone help me.  Thank you

I would ensure that no infection is present.  This can be evaluated with a urine specimen looking for a UTI as well as testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia.  I would also have your prostate evaluated, since any prostatic infection can lead to the symptoms.  A digital rectal exam as well as culturing prostatic fluid can be considered.

If infection has been ruled out, you may want to have a dermatologist look at the lesion.  Possibilities would include a fungal infection and dermatitis, which would be treated with an antifungal cream or steroid cream respectively.
