Ok...this is long...but please stick with me.  My frequency and urge has been since around my mid to late 20s...and I'm now 35.  Finally, went to a urologist at age 34 and he conducted a Cystocopy and found my bladder, urethra and prostate are all doing fine.  He also conducted a test to check the "flow" of my urine - all normal.   Had me get x-rays to investigate a "back pain" I've been having...not an excruciating like "I can't move" pain, but more of an overall tightness around my lower back, not being able to sit long without having to adjust.  X-rays found "the lowest lumbosacral vertebral body is partially transitional.  It has a large right transitional transverse  process, but this appears to have pseudoarticulation if not partial fusion to the underlying sacrum."  In short, I guess a "bulging disc."  Cervical Stenosis?  Urologist sent me to a "Back specialist" to investigate further.  He sent me to get an MRI, but I never went back to home after feeling like I was just being tossed around.  Instead, I opted to go to a chiropractor, thinking I wanted to take care of this "naturally" without drugs.  Went there for almost a couple of months.  I did feel an overall more flexible range of motion, but I honestly can't say whether my symptoms diminished because I was so occupied with some other interesting things happening while under the chiropractor's care - difficulty swallowing, not food or liquids, but just felt difficult to swallow my saliva, blurred vision which lead to head aches.  Eventually those subsided...and then I had to move to another city.

Several months later, I decide to go to a Naturopathic Doc who gave me some chinese herbs (drops) to clean out my bladder, prostate...to make sure there's no bacterial infection.  That didn't stop the frequency and urge to urinate.  Then, thinking it may be something nerve related, I went to an acupuncturist about three or four visits.  No change...got busy with work and never went back.  Started doing Pilates...and while I didn't really notice a change in my symptoms, I felt an all around good stretch in my body (of course only to return to a computer at home and work and long drives.)  Due to finances, stopped Pilates.

A month or two later, I went back to another acupuncturist...first treatment she says should do something if it truly is related to nerves.  No change.  She said it must not be something that could be helped with Acupuncture.  She put me on some supplements called "Quercetin" and "Prostate Supreme" again to "flush" out any bacteria.  Finished both bottles, no changes.  Whew!  Thanks for continuing to read.  She suggested I see the chiropractor in her office after I concluded there must be something "structurally" that is causing pressure down there.  (It could also explain why I can't jump off...let's say a regular sized table...and land on my two feet without feeling a striking cramping pain around my perineum.)  So....chiropractor had me do a complimentary "Decompression Table" treatment since I had heard about this and thought it sounded like it could do the trick.  I felt it got worse.  Probably went from 2 times a night to 3 times.  Went back for a follow up with the Chiropractor.  Said one treatment is not enough to work.  He decided to put that option aside (and so did I) and took his own xrays.  After reviewing those and my old xrays...he suggested that that bulging disc I have...the L-4 or L-5 fused to my sacrum, could be causing the hole that nerves run through to constrict and that could be pinching the nerves that directly affect the bladder and prostate.  Symptoms he says include frequent urination (i have), impotence (I don't have), Siatica (hmmm...does occasional slight numbness in my feet when I run count?)..and knee pain (which I had, but subsided greatly after "rolling out" my IT band with one of those Pilates foam rolls.  Now, I'm going on my sixth adjustment this week...and so far, don't notice anything.

So...I honestly feel the chiropractor has offered the best explanation as to what could be the problem.  But, when is it going to work?  I want to be able to get 8 hours of sleep again without being interrupted.  Every single time I wake up to pee (and that's been for the last several years)...I think what's going to happen when I'm older.  How will I manage?  That worries me so much and I'm sure that's not helping any.  I've been contemplating going to a urologist again because I'm feeling the flow of my urine has changed.  I'd feel a strong urge...but when I go to pee, it might take a few seconds to come out or when it does, the strength of the flow seems weak for the strong urge.  Also, here's something I've noticed also:  my stools don't always come out round, but more "flat."  I don't have a problem using the bathroom.  I guess I eat enough fiber..but the shape is once again leading me to believe that bulging disc may be causing some pressure in my whole sacrum-tailbone region.

Ok...if you read this far, thank you so much for taking the time.  Please, please...anyone have any suggestions or words of advice?  Thank you in advance.  I do also hope that some of the treatments I've chosen to take have sparked some ideas for any of you suffering the same thing.  Maybe it'll work for you.  It's worth a shot.  That's been my attitude these past two years...but I can't help but to feel frustrated.  Am i not sticking to one treatment long enough? Could all of this be leading to the overall stress I feel (in addition to work and facing a layoff) and even the cause of my first anxiety attack late last year?   Please help.
