Dr Singh, I am very confuesed .my question is , is there a lot of harsh pain with Varicocele like there is with epididymitisEpididymitis? I'm 61 now and very active at work. I've had epididymitisEpididymitis once when I was 30 an again when I was 37.now two doctors said I have varicocele and the other said I have epididmitis. I my self think it's epididymitisEpididymitis because they say on this site that epididymitisEpididymitis can be caused by a strain to the groin and thats what happen to me. I can get up in the morning and it's like I have nothing at all then after being on my feet the pain just keeps getting more and more by 5 or 6 o'clock my right testis swells up and is red and hurt so bad! and next day it repeats its self again each day. so as of 4 days ago I 'm staying completely down and using ice pack on my scrotum. it seems to be getting better but today I'm getting another ulta sound and urin culture. Please Dr Singh can you give a little insite on this . thank you so much and have a great day. Paul.
Hello,
Since the pain is increasing steadily throughout the day and by evening it is the worst, so it sounds more like varicocele. Epididymitis redness and pain does not subside at any point of time. Pain in varicocele subsides on lying down. So please consult a urologist and get a physical examination and testicular ultrasound done to confirm the diagnosis.
I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Dr Singh, thank you so much. you are such a good man for taking time to answer my question. it's not often you find someone who cares enought to take the time to do what you do for people. I am greatful to you . Paul Bailey.
