why does my penis get dry after sex sometimes?

Hi. My fiancee and I have unprotected sexand have been for over 2 years, but sometimes I get dry areas on my penis. We do not use lube because luckily she does not need it. The problem doesn't happen every time but it happens once or twice a month. The area right around my hood gets red and irritated while sometimes I get small dry areas on my penis. They dont hurt or itch but look ugly. It doesn't happen when I masterbate because I use KY. Should my fiancee and I start using lube? When I put cream on it within a less then day it is back to normal. What could be the problem? We have both been tested for STD's and both got a clean bill of health.
