Take Vitamin D once or twice a day? Gelcaps or non-gelcaps?

My doctor  told me to take a Vitamin D 2000 UI twice a day.  I just found out they have 4000 UI pills.  Can I just take one 4000 UI pill once a day?  Isn't that the same as taking a 2000 UI pill twice a day?

Also, he told me to take the gelcaps.  I already have some non-gelcap Vitamin D.  What's the difference?

I would take 2000iu a couple of times a day. How you take it is up to your bady. Everyone absorbs it differently. I take 2000iu of drops in the morning. 1-2000iu vitamin in the afternoon. And a 2000iu gummy at night after dinner. I don't know how much if it my body keeps in so I'm testing out different ways to take it. I just hope soon I will have more good days instead of bad. It's been a long recovery (4 months now) and I probably have ways to go.

There would be no problem taking the ones you have ,they just take longer to dissolve .
Next time buy the gel caps but would stick to the 2000 twice a
as the excess is only excreted from the body and the spacing out will allow you to benefit from all day cover..

Taking the Vitamin D 2000 twice a day, twelve hours apart, would allow the D to be in your system longer at a more consistent level than taking 4000 at one time which would flood your system all at once with D level going down as the day goes on.  I'm not sure what difference gel caps would make.  It would seem that you could use up the ones you have if they are of proper dosage.
