Glad to know that the iron levels came back good.
I can't remember if you had your vitamin B12 levels checked.
Let me know how you get on with the thyroid tests.
If all the tests come back fine, it may just be a viral thing. There is so much of it about at this time of the year.
Sorry it was a typo. My iron results all came back good. I am now trying to get a full thyroid panel instead of just tsh.
Glad that you are following the advice from your doctor.
I can't understand though about having a retest for vitamin C (unless you pressed the wrong key). Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin and we need to consume foods that contain this vitamin every day. Vitamin C is not stored in the body like vitamin D.
It will be interesting to know how your iron levels come back. If these are low, your doctor is likely to prescribe an iron supplement for you or give you advice on diet.
Let me know how you get on.
Best wishes.
I am waiting on my results from my anemia panel, should be back today or tomorrow. I do feel like I have been more anxious in the last 3 weeks but that is not normal for me. I feel like my LVD level could be causing some of my anxiety. My dr told me to take 10,000 IU for a couple months then we will retest vit C levels.
Thanks for your help also!
When you say you had the blood work done and it only showed low signs of Vitamin D, did they mention iron and B12 levels? I suspect they did, but those symptoms you mention can also indicate low iron and B12 levels.
The other thing that can cause the bright lights is migraines. You can get these bright lights when you have been glaring at a computer or other screen for a very long time and have lack of rest and sleep.
Cold feet is usually a sign of bad blood circulation. Your tightness in the chest may also be due to your anxiety levels. Tiredness and lack of concentration can all also be due to anxiety.
Although the blood tests showed low levels of the vitamin, it is highly likely that some of your symptoms are related to other issues as well.
Try and tackle what is making you feel so anxious. You may benefit from seeing your doctor to discuss these issues with him so that he can help you with dealing with your anxiety. We all have stressors in our lives that cause anxiety, but when it starts to affect our health, then you need to do something about this, either by learning breathing and relaxation techniques, avoiding the situations that cause the anxiety, or seek help from your doctor.
Find out if the blood tests also included a HBA1C test which measures sugar levels.
Be aware that although your Vitamin D levels are low at the moment, you can also experience severe symptoms from an overdose of this vitamin. This vitamin is stored in the liver and is not like Vitamin C and Vitamin B12 that we have to consume every day.
Eat a well balanced and healthy diet with lots of fresh fruit and veg. Drink plenty of fluids (milk, water, limit your alcohol intake).
Vitamin D is also made by the liver when our skin is exposed to sunshine. You will find more info with regard to foods that contain this vitamin on the web, but most cereals are fortified with this vitamin.
I do not know the answer to your question. I should imagine it will depend on the person, but I would have thought at least a month to 3 months before your levels get up to acceptable levels. Your doctor will no doubt advise you on this and let you know when next to have a blood test done to check your Vitamin D levels. Unless you have been advised by your doctor to take that amount of the vitamin, it is better to take a smaller dose regularly, than too much of any vitamin supplement in one day.
Hope you start to feel better soon.
