Heeeelp - Is my Vitamin D level low


Hi

Bllod test for VItamin d is 45nmol is this considered as low and will i need to up my dosage?

Yes this level is insufficient. The vitamin D council recommend between 125 - 200 nmol/L year round.

No problem. Just to add, Vitamin D "uses up" magnesium to convert to active vitamin D. No problem is you have plenty of magnesium to go around.  The "side effects" of vitamin D supplementation are usually magnesium deficiency symptoms. Fun symptoms from headaches, insomnia and muscle cramps to anxiety, heart palpitations and constipation. :)

45 is low. 75 and up is considered a normal amount. How much do you take right now? You should have a least 1000 IUs.
