Too much glucosamine sulfate?

For 20 years I have had great success in keeping my osteoarthritis (neck, shoulders, knees) from hurting and from limiting my activities.  I take 3500 mg. (divided among three meals);  cutting down brings the symptoms back after two or three weeks.  (Also changing brands brings them back which is just very weird.)

My question is:  Could this amount of glucosamine sulfate cause problems I should deal with before they happen?  I'm 76 and otherwise healthy.
