I have been being monitored for a IgG lambda M spike in the beta globulins since May '08. All blood tests have been sent to the same lab, and I have been being monitored every 3-6 months. In Jan. '09 my spike increased to 0.8 from baseline of 0.6. I was just re-tested after 6 mths. and spike now at 1.2. My doctor decided to repeat test to make sure it wasn't a false spike before putting me through another bone marrowBone marrow aspiration Bone marrow biopsy Bone marrow culture Bone marrow from hip Bone marrow transplant, etc. that sample was drawn at a different lab and subsequently sent off to another lab for analyzing. The result came back 0.8. It seems to me that if you are doubleDouble-tussin dm checking a lab value, you would send it to the same lab for the repeat. Otherwise, I don't think you're comparing apples to apples. Am I wrong about this, and now that I have 2 greatly different lab values, how do you decide which one is the accurate on? Seems like another test needs to be sent to the original lab for re-testing.
