5 6" 122lb woman can't loose the last 5lbs!!

by sallyb1234, Apr 09, 2009 10:41AM
Hi-  I'm 28 years old, 5 foot 6 & 122 lbs.  Up until 2 years ago I was able to maintain 115-118 easy, but now it's like my body is saying "noooo...you're destined to be 122"!  I'm eating around 1400 - 1800 calories a day, working out 5 days a week, but I do allow myself 1 or 2 cheat days a week...nothing crazy though, nothing different than I did a few years ago.  I do eat allot of salt...but I always have.  Just wondering if anyone has any tips for me to loose the last 5.  Thanks!

5'6 is tall for women so i think your weight is very good!! I really dont think you need to lose anymore!! I know the last 5lbs is very tough I'm 5'3 and im trying to get to 118 but the last 5 tug me all the time! i'm convinced im just gonna have to stop eating to make it happen!!
I have heard the zig zag trick works if you are doing everything right and the scale doesnt budge! Pretty much it means count your calories and zig zag them all over the place high one day low the next middle the following and so forth!  I havent tried it cus im lazy on counting but i heard it works and it might be worth a try if you really want that last 5 lbs gone!

I'm horrible to explain the calories aspect but my team leader for maintainers on spark people (my other weight loss site) he wrote a blog to help every1 out if they got stuck so take a minute and read it its very informative!

Hey-- your BMI must be relatively good. Maintaining 118 +/- a few percent should be fine. Don't drive yourself crazy over 2%

BTW go low on the salt- it's definitely not a good thing

May I first commend you on maintaining a great and desirable weight for your height!  Good job!  I would say that the key to that last 5 pounds that you wish to lose (although you are doing well where you are currently) would be persistence.  Find ways to adjust your calories and exercise to keep that body and metabolize guessing.  Believe me....if you don't give up, sooner or later those 5 pounds will give!

I'm jealous!
I'm 5'4" and USE to weigh 115 pounds... and now I weigh 135... YIKES!

I'm even more jealous!!  I'm only 5' and always maintained between 95-110 (even pregnant, I only got up to 114), but when my thyroid wigged out a couple years ago, I gained 30 lbs in 3-4 months and it won't budge unless I exercise and starve to death.

I'll take your 122 any day.
