Anyone Else Experience?

Not sure if this is related to metabolism or not, but was wondering if any other women have experienced weight gain that seems to be incremental with each passing menstrual period?  I've noticed over the last 4-5 years that with each period, I seem to gain a little bit more weight and can't ever seem to stabilize on a normal plateau.  When I have a period, I always get very bloated everywhere and the bloating seems to be going down less and less as the years and months go on.  If I ever do really, really focus on eating right and cutting out all white food, I'll lose a few pounds, but then I get my period and BAM, it's back on.  Over the course of the next cycle, I try my hardest to eat well, but my period coems around, the cravings are massive, I get my period, I get bloated, and then a little bit seems to "stay" on me.  I went from weighing around 135 lbs. in 2003/2004 to now around 210 lbs.  I'm 5'6" and 41 years old.

I second CC9 - recommend that you get your thyroid checked, along with a thorough exam by your doctor.

Also make sure you drink plenty of water to keep hydrated - your body may be hanging on to fluid because you aren't taking in enough.

Hi, have you seen a Dr for a routine physical to make sure your thyroid is doing okay and that your Vitamin D is ok along with other things?  I'm sure others will have some more input.
