Anyone???

by Nursy71, Sep 24, 2009 09:35PM
I have been gaining since I retired from Nursing a few years ago...I have gone to WW for 1 1/2 years..loss of 11 lbs total...joined another very well publicized by stars...ended up with a gall bladder attack and in hospital...too much fat in that diet for sure...way above the limit per day...and costly for weight loss...
I am only able to excercise by walking, (found that out the hard way) I joined a gym and was determined to go for a half hour on the treadmill...shin splints ouch! then I thought the eliptical looked great...well I was having the worst spasms in my back already injured long ago...I had to stop going and pay till I get a note from my MD...
My problem is various, however the one that bothers me the most is the loss of muscle tissue and the fat just hangs there...so disgusting to me...
This started when I did not go to the gym and over-ate ...I am an emotional eater...food soothes me..
I am now counting points again but doubt if that awful small child ( stomach) I am carrying is quite a job...Does someone in here have this problem too?

i am an emotional eater as well. i did weight watchers for a very short period of time and saw some results, however it seems when i start to do good, i backslide. as far as the gym goes, i joined 3 times and went for a total of 2 times all together. i seem to have no motivation. im hoping that i can get some willpower and kick this into gear. walking is the best thing to do. my aunt never exercised,NEVER, and one day she started walking. she walked for a mile a day for 6 months. she cut back on portions only slightly and just watched what she ate. at the end of 6 months she had lost 40lbs. so i know that walking can work. i just need to tell that to myself!
