Ok .. here we are .. time to face the scale and weigh in!  Whether this week has been successful, unsuccessful or you've held the same .. it's time to acknowledge where you are, accept the responsibility and make a plan for this next week.

Together we are here to support each other .. not judge .. but extend the hand of friendship, understanding and caring.  We are here to H E L P each other through the tough times, celebrate in the good times and share the journey with like-minded friends!

We have about 50 people in the challenge .. and I'll be posting those names in a post later today so we can all reach out to each other.  It is important that we pull together ... there is strength in numbers and many wonderful friendships to be shared.

Oh ... and don't forget to fill in your weight tracker .. we'll be checking!  :p

I seem to be making a bit of headway but still need to get exercising.  I am down 1.6 pounds this week!

by twehner5, Jan 25, 2009 10:39AM
Well, was shocked that I lost another pound this week!  That's comfort food, and all!

I guess sometimes stress burns calories...?

by gokuangel, Jan 25, 2009 11:44AM
I lost 1.1 lbs! I'm surprised every1 else on my team says doing the shred they having been gaining but me i been lucky so far im still losing and im getting the inches off as well! I lost another inch off my stomach this week and im finally down a whole inch on my hips as well well!! YEAH!!

by Barb135, Jan 25, 2009 11:52AM
Ok - you guys.  I did weigh this morning and I must confess  -----  it ain't pretty!!

I gained again.  twehner - my stress isn't working and neither is anything else.

by Ranaesheart, Jan 25, 2009 12:12PM
My stress isn't helping either ... but did manage to lose 1 pound that left last week and returned quickly.  Anyway, it's back off and I'm pleased.  Now some could say I've held steady for 2 weeks, but I am okay with that.  No longer on a race .. as long as I am eating healthy and doing some exercise (I need to improve in that area as well ...) and the scale continues to go down overall .. I am thrilled.

Trudie - 1.6 is awesome .. share your secrets!

twehner - you Rock!  Congrats!!!  Hey .. a special challenge for you .. perhaps you and that illusive Skailark can work on something to help us get rockin in the exercise department???  :p

gokuangel - Way to go girl .. weight loss plus inches!  Whoo hooo

Barb - Your steadfast determination and stick-to-it-ness is inspiring and I am SOOOO PROUDDD of you!!!   There are times when we gain and then gain again, but it is the spirit and fortitude you show in believing and not giving up that makes you a winner!  What can we do to help?  Want to review your food intake or exercise?  We're here for you and we'll figure something out.  You give yourself a BIG HUG and realize how special you are for hanging in there in the tough times ... that is what truly tells if we are successful.  Supportive (((Hugs)))

by TrudieC, Jan 25, 2009 12:19PM
Wish I could say it was all my hard work but had a sore tummy for 2 days so ate a lot less :)

by blksapphire, Jan 25, 2009 12:24PM
Wish I could start off saying that I had lost weight, but I'm still the same.  It seems like no matter what I do, I can't lose a dag gone thing.

by Got_To_Do_It, Jan 25, 2009 12:33PM
Im not officially in this challenge -  but am happy to say I lost  this week -  (my main weigh in day is Thursday but as you can see from my tracker I weigh in every day)

So I started on Thursday 1st January
(I weigh -  and then measure chest, waist, hips, bum, thighs and calves)

Thur 8th Jan = lost 4lb and 3"
Thur 15th Jan = lost 2lb and 1/2"
Thur 22nd Jan =  lost 1.2lb and 3"

Funny how the pounds and inches don't follow a pattern -  weird how the weight redistributes lol.

by twehner5, Jan 25, 2009 05:21PM
Must....be....bad....conn...tion....Ranae....Can't hear you....!

by Ranaesheart, Jan 25, 2009 05:44PM
Trudie - Well, you're not fooling me .. I know your determination and steadfastness as it shines through week after week.  As for your tum tum .. sorry you were not feeling well and hope you will soon be good as new!

blksapphire - I am SO PROUD of YOU!!!  How Brave and Wonderful for you to share so honestly and post at a time that certainly has to be frustrating.  Am here to help and will be glad to review your food intake and/or exercise plan with you, if you'd like.  Know that YOU CAN lose weight .. we just have to look at some details to be able to help you.

Got_To_Do_It - You have been a member of the WL&D community for quite some time and are a shining example of a positive can do attitude.  Thank you for sharing with everyone and yes, it is funny how the inches do not have a direct correlation with the actual pounds .. although they both seem to go in the same direction.  Keep up the great work!

twehner - Well .. I just checked the wires, reimplemented the call and the connection is now just fine!!!  he hee hee ... Sending this thread to Skailark as well .. so you two can "play" together .. loll  Have to admit .. that was funny and a nice try!

by Skailark, Jan 25, 2009 06:07PM
Twehner! You must be losing the pounds just trying to establish good connections! he he...I think if we left the calls disconnected may be we can get you to lose more! lol...JK

Anywaysgood to see all of your are doing a great job! Hang in there and let's keep up the good work!

by twehner5, Jan 25, 2009 06:10PM
Hey, Drill Sergeant.  The General wants us to do some crunches, eh?  Something about being insubordinate, or something like that.  I told her it was Y-O-U!

by Ranaesheart, Jan 25, 2009 06:16PM
Woww .. does that mean I got a promotion!!???  Think you two are in for a "crunch match" and I   B e L i E v E   you were going to start slow with me and teach me!  (And hold me accountable!)

The Crunching Comedians .. lolll

Know YOU TWO will come up with something fun!!!

by twehner5, Jan 25, 2009 06:36PM
Well, I was waiting for a nod from the DS.  He appears to have gone AWOL.

We'll put our heads together about some good ab workouts.

I LOVE ab workouts!  Did you know all other muscle groups have to have a day to rest between workouts...?  BUT you'll be happy to know that the abs can be worked EVERY day!  AIN'T GREAT NEWS?

Don't say you don't have time.  If you just do 10 crunches/day, how long does that take?  maybe 10 seconds?  Do those every day and you've done 70 crunches this week.

THERE!  That's your beginning class.  AND, you won't be sore from 10 crunches, but I LOVE sore!!!

Thanks for your comments and offer to help.  I'm not sure what anyone can do right now, unless you have a "magic thyroid wand". The lab tests I had done a couple weeks ago showed that things are still not what they should be and I can only assume that's the majority of the problem.

I've kept my diet pretty much steady, in spite of the fact that we had/have several family birthdays this week and I had a house full of company today. But I weighed at 5:00 this morning, so that had nothing to do with it. I did eat a 1/2" X 1/2" square of fudge last night that I had made for my husband, but I don't think that had anything to do with the gain.

Work schedule gets brutal and most days I only have 2-3 hrs between getting home from work and going to bed, so work outs often have to take a back seat to tending husband/pets/home/yard/cooking/laundry, etc.  A lot of nights I don't even eat supper.  Still walking 3-5 miles/day should count for something!!

All that said, I just looked at the clock and it's now past my bedtime.  Ya'll have a great evening.

by Ranaesheart, Jan 25, 2009 08:12PM
To: Barb135
Barb - Am sure the thyroid condition has a lot to do with it.  As for the piece of fudge, it is a non-issue.  That will not make or break you ... so when you do have it periodically, enjoy it and savor it.  Now, the not eating dinner is another thing.  That is what says to your body .. I may be sick, I may be starving .. I need to preserve my energy.  It also sends out signals to make you tired in hopes of saving any weight for when it may be needed.

From your schedule, see you are super super busy and have many irons in the fire.  From that and your wonderful posts in the community, it is clear to see you are a giver.  Try to keep your spirits up and know I am in your court.  I have every faith you will forge through this although, understandably, know this is a slow process.

Love you bunches ..

Private Ranaesheart reporting for duty to DS Twehner5 and DS Skailark .. lolll   Okay, okay, okay .. I AGREE!  10 crunches tonight and 10 tomorrow .. you can check my exercise tracker .. and yes, I'll start recording my activity better.

Do appreciate the information, the encouragement and the challenge!  How about you issue that challenge to the rest of the team???   Just copy your post above into a new thread and address it to everyone .. and put CHALLENGE POST before your title.  Let's make this a routine part of the entire challenge .. and I accept your challenge of 10 crunches a day!  I'll let you know about the pain part .. this is a new tummy that hasn't received crunches since I had surgery .. am looking forward to it!

Thanks twehner .. and many hugssss ... and I believe Skailark is back ... he didn't want to be AWOL .. lol

Hey!

Twehner! Well..Iam not still AWOL! LOL>>>>  Just donot want to be chased around....he he...
Well the rest of the team here is a real challenge ffromTwehner and me...

Welll...the crunches are on! Are you up to the task? Ten a day is just a piece of cake!

Come on! We have to make our CL Miss Ranae Proud! Let's do this and get those abs toned!

by Barb135, Jan 26, 2009 05:17AM
To: Ranaeheart
It was my husband's birthday and I knew the piece of fudge was not going to derail my entire diet, since I'm sliding sideways down the track anyway.  I'm not a chocolate eater, so very seldom eat it.  So I agree, it's a non-issue, just felt I should "fess up".

I did neglect to mention the key lime pie that I made - I gave that whole thing away, without even a taste.

Due to certain stomach issues, I'm not supposed to eat within 2-3 hours of going to bed and as stated previously, often that's all the time I have between getting home and going to bed.  I do usually have an apple and maybe some nuts or something real light in the evening, so I'm not starving.  I eat my main meal at lunch time.

I'll have to try to get those crunches into my schedule.  The old "tum tum" could use that toning.  Thanks twehner5 and Skailark - keep us accountable!!

by twehner5, Jan 26, 2009 06:09AM
Barb, DO I HAVE TO COME DOWN THERE AND SHAKE THAT DOCTOR???

The old Lark and I will be excited to hear about the 20 crunches ;) , but the doctor better be listening to the REST!  Something isn't right.  Take care of your health, and we'll take care of your smiles (and your abs)!

Oh, MY!  I could NOT have resisted the Key Lime Pie.  I'm impressed.

by msniki412, Jan 26, 2009 07:57AM
I lost 1.5lb for last week.

by Barb135, Jan 26, 2009 08:07AM
Thank you sssoooo much.  We do what we gotta do and if passin' up key lime pie is what we gotta do, then we gotta do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so happy to hear that you have my abs covered and I certainly get the smiles from your posts!!  You go girl.  Hey wait a minute - I thought it was 10 crunches - with friends like you, I sure don't need any enemies.  hahaha

And, yes, please do come shake up the doctor - I need something and not getting his help.  But there's hope on the horizon ...............  I see a new endocrinologist tomorrow morning and am hoping he's got some help for me - in both the energy and weight loss depts.  Will let you know how that goes.  Thanks

by wonko, Jan 26, 2009 09:40AM
I'm not doing so well and did not feel up to weighing myself again.  I think I'm more in a "hang in there" mode than a "make progress mode."  Lots of other stuff and health issues.  Will keep trying.

by Cheyenne_08, Jan 26, 2009 10:54AM
I missed this yesterday but I am down 1.2 lbs this week!

by dai3symae, Jan 26, 2009 11:39AM
I'm doing weight watchers online so monday is my official day.  I'm down 2 lbs this week.

BTW....how do you get the tracker to show up on your posts?

by Barb135, Jan 26, 2009 11:55AM
To: dai3symae
You get the tracker to show by going to the bottom of your post and click on the blue "show ticker", then it will say "add one your tickers to the bottom of this post", click the downward arrow and it will show the available trackers, then just click on the one you want.
