Can I take fruit?

I am going to lose my weight and gain muscle. During my diet, can I take fruit? My friend said that bodybuilder cant take fruit. Please give your oppinion.

While fruit is an important part of many diets, it's also important to limit fruit to 1-2 servings/day, because of the amount of sugar in most fruits.  The sugar in fruit causes blood sugar to spike, which, in turn causes insulin spikes and over time can contribute to insulin resistance and/or metabolic syndrome.

Determine if you just want to lose weight and gain muscle or become a bodybuilder, since these two goals are not exactly the same.  In any case, eating fruit is important in any diet because of the benefits found in a great variety of fruits.
