Face flushing when dieting. Help!

by mhardin07, Jan 03, 2008 10:49AM
Everytime I start to diet, I end up giving up becasue of this flushed/full feeling I get in my face the entire time.  When I start to diet, I do the following basics: eat 5 times per day, lean proteins, 2 dairy, whole grains like Ezekiel bread and brown rice, veggies with every meal.  I cut of refined flour and sugars, etc.  However, a few hours into ding this, my face becomes very flushed and full feeling and very red. Sometimes my chest does too, but mostly my face. It feels hot and as if it might pop off.  This usually lasts the whole time. I have dieted for weeks at a time and still get the feeling. My doc has tested me for diabetes and hypo-glycemia....both negative.  Although I change what I eat, I don't eat things I wouldn't normally eat. I heat whole grain bread at times, etc, and never have a reaction.   It is very frustrating and causes me to give up. Who can deal with the feeling that their face and head might blow up???????? What could be causing this??????
