Fat and ugly. Would rather be skinny and ugly. help?

by CrazyLennie, Oct 01, 2009 03:26PM
Im 16, 5 foot 8 inches, and i weigh 200 pounds. I got a disgusting stomach, [small] man boobs, and i cant stand it any more. I feel like starving my self. Im an ugly kid, and im fat to top it off so i would like to atleast have a nice body.
Is there any tips you can give me? Im depressed. And on top of being disgustingly fat and ugly, i got ugly hair and i get bad grades because im so lazy. Im willing to diet and exercise, so please i just need some direction. thanks to anyone that can help.

depressed? yes/ bad hair? maybe/bad grades? yes/ugly? NO!/disgustingly fat? overweight but not disgustingly so.

Start with the things easiest to fix.  Hair: find a shampoo and conditioner suited for your hair type then get a good cut suited to you. Beautiful hair goes a long way toward how you feel about your looks.  Work on good skin...wash your face with plain hot water every morning.  If your skin is a little oily, use apple cider vinegar on a cotton swab (the vinegar will not dry your skin like alcohol does and the smell evaporates in minutes--it's good for your hair too). Grades:  get the lead out!   Find a hobby. What interests you? (That does not include video games!)  Apparently, sports are not your thing, so find something that is.  Nothing wrong with gardening/landscaping.  Maybe building something, even if it's just a dog house or even a birdhouse.  Maybe dancing (look at "Dancing with the Stars") best exercise there is.  Or swimming.

So what if you're a little heavy!  You're young and you're beautiful!!

Great advice above!  Working on your self esteem will really help.  It does seem that how you feel about yourself is what is really bringing you down.  Stay involved here, use the weight tracker and food diary to help you stay in check.  We can support you.  We do a weigh in every Sunday morning.  Join us!  At the very least walk, ride your bike or if you have a Wii, get the Wii Fit.  Aerobic exercise (getting your heart rate up) will burn fat and help with the man boobs.  If you can afford it look into joining a gymn and doing a combo of aerobic exercise and weight training.  Get passionate about life and invest in you.  You don't get a do over.  You can do this.

to continue the previous posting:

CrazyLennie,

I'm just a mom, but I've been where you are.  My youngest son has been down your path and still struggles with his weight. He works out constantly and is "strong as an ox".  He enjoys life by doing things that make him happy....he's quiet the artist!, drives the big rigs, is learning to fly, plays pool, has developed a great personality and is quiet the "ladies man" (without trying).

You can do this too!  Don't let yourself and anyone else say you can't!  YOU CAN!

Don't forget.......You are young and beautiful!! or if you prefer "young and goodlooking"!

You go girl --- there's nothing I could say that would help any more than what you've said.

I always find it amazing how our self-esteem affects the way we see our bodies... I've been down that road so many times it's not funny........and I still struggle with it sometimes.
