lol yeah it says that to me also! i dunno bout me i never noticed i did that or i ll be like well you me to keep the line in balance and the only way to do that is for me to add more weight on one leg its kinda hard! oh man surgery on your ankle ouch!! glad it is better now though! I had ear surgery 4 times and man my neck is super weak now and its gets kinked easily!!
Yeah, I've had the Wii Fit come up and ask me if I have a hard time making my body do what I want it to; or if I trip a lot when I walk!! I favor my right foot a lot too because I had so much trouble with that ankle for a lot of years, so naturally put more weight on the left leg in order to protect the right one. I ended up having surgery on the right ankle to repair ligaments, tendon, etc and even though the surgery went perfect and my right ankle is actually better than it was even in high school (which is when I first injured it), I favored it for so many years, now I have to work on distributing my weight evenly. One thing I like about the Wii Fit is that it points out our weak points and gives things to work to improve on.
Barb-I will give it a whirl and see what happens! lol i am so clumsy too i fall all over the place and according to that thing i basically walk on my left leg (im left handed) cus my right leg dont wanna support none of my weight!!
Well sounds like the yogurt is a good thing i am definetly gonna buy some when i go shopping!!
Maybe you should try the advanced step exercise on the Wii Fit. I'm not good on the other one either, but some (not a whole lot) better with the advanced. Besides that, it's a good idea to mix things up a bit anyway rather than doing the same thing every time.
Also be sure to work on the balance games - even though it's unlikely that they will make you sweat, they will help with your balance so some of the other exercises will get easier also. I've done a few of the balance games and some times I can only laugh at myself, because I'm so clumsy, but after a bit of practice, I do get better.
I guess I got off the subject didn't I? I've read also that low fat dairy is good for helping with weight loss/maintenance. I'm not exactly sure how many servings/day - that would be a good research project.
no i havent tried that one i am just so terrible at the other one no wonder i cant do the DDR game lol!! yeah i have a mobile home and actually no steps!! omg crazy huh well i have some but they are super rickety just enough stable for me and dh to get up and down jumping on them might be bad lol!!
gokuangel - have you tried the advanced step part of Wii Fit? It's one that becomes available when you've done some of the others. It's different from the basic step and goes faster. More complicated, but I actually do better with it than with the basic (did I mention that I have no rhythm?) - maybe because it's faster and my body tends to have 2 speeds (fast & stop)??
You said you live in a mobile home so that means you probably have steps going to your door ? Have you tried just "running" up and down the steps several times? Sounds kind of boring, but try turning the music up loud and go for it - it works!! We have steps going up to our house also and I quite often make a few trips up/down.
my wii fit just has a basic step and the running which i do both!! i do not have a treadmill i do have this exercise bike thing (like a stand up ski one) very hard to do though but i havent brought it over to my house though yet still at my in laws (next door) i live in a trailer i dont think i will get a treadmill im too scared of hitting the floor so hard lol!!
Hey Joy, In re-reading your original question, I thought of something else. I know from earlier conversations with you that your DH doesn't like for you to walk out where you live. Does your Wii have a walking program or do you have a treadmill? Walking has the surprising benefit of whittling the waist - who knew?
TY Guys! I was reading this online but just wanted to get opinions and see! Trudie-i probably will look into the activia i been meaning too especially since i have stomach problems.
I wouldn't be a good WISCONSINITE if I didn't put in a plug for DAIRY! But, seriously, I've read that 3 servings of low-fat dairy per day is good for weight-loss and weight maintenance. This worked for me in the past and is something that I have not been as diligent about recently.
MOO!
I have heard that dairy is a great help and probiotics are really good for you. I eat a small container of Activia probiotic yogurt everyday. It is only 100 calories and tastes great.
