There's alot of info out there on hashimotos. I was diagnosed 3 yrs. ago. I'm supprised that you only have 5 symptoms. It's hard to have all of these things going on in your body with no real answers or cures. I have been trying to work through it for awhile. To me, the worst part is being tired and having the muslce and leg pains. You might want to join our thyroid disorder group. It's a good place to start. Also, you will find yourself being very sensitive to cold. I did have a little swelling, but not much. But I do get tingly sensation in my hands and feet. I too have gained alot of weight. I have quite a bit going on because of hashimotos and thyroid cancer. Have you had any test done on your thyroid? You can also try the autoimmune community since that's where Hashimotos is found.

Just click on the forums at the top of the page.....it'll list all the forums within the medhelp system. I am on several forums and the thyroid is one of them. They just extended an invitation to us (thyroid forum) to join the weight loss group. They will address the extra issues of weight loss with a thyroid disorder.

Good luck

Hello there!!

I, too, have been diagnosed with hashimotos going on 3 months ago. There is a Thyroid Disorders forum here on medhelp that I would suggest you check out. We have a very supportive community with a fair amount of people that have been going through this for many years & have a lot of info under their belts. It's a disease that really does tailor itself to each person. The best thing I can tell you is to be as patient as possible as your meds help you even out & listen to your body. It's a long road, but there are a lot of people with you on it!

Cheers!
