Heard xenical can affect your heart and liver, is this true?

I have irrregular hearbeats but doc put me on xenical as i'm overweight and have reflux disease, so weight loss would help this.
Long story but thought the pulse probs due to serious side effects of new antidepressant so came off it but have heard reports that xenical can cause heart and liver problems and was wondering if i should be worried.

Have lost 1 stone so far but my heart more serious and don't want to be causing further problems.

Please advise. Thanks Yvonne x

I have never heard that.  My endo gave me a script for Xenical also, but I didn't fill it due to the high cost.

The generic name of Xenical is Orlistat, which is the same drug that's in the OTC weight loss aid, Ali, approved by FDA.  I've taken Ali and had no trouble with it.

Of course, meds/drugs can affect different people in different ways, so you should bring up any concerns you have, with your doctor.
