If you absolutely get in a situation where you can't control what someone else fixed for a meal, do EXACTLY what you did....be mindful, eat less.
I am not sure I'd really just have a yogurt for dinner, though. Have a small meal, maybe less than you'd normally eat, or one that is pretty healthy. If you just have a yogurt, you are leaving yourself wide open to get very hungry later, and that could be disastrous!
(I speak from painful experience)
But you did great! Baked ziti is fabulous. I have a killer recipe for it, but its so horribly shockingly high in calories and fat that med help would take away my CL status.
My update: Went to a friend's house for lunch who made baked ziti! Oh No!!!! Well, I was far from perfect, but I figure that I ate half of what I normally would have eaten...so that is a big step for me. I think I may be just a little above my daily points for the day, so tonight for dinner I will probably just have a yogurt. Like Peek says...start at your next meal! THANK YOU ALL FOR THE SUPPORT!
Right now my goals are as follows:
To not eat more than 150 carbs a day
Eat no more than 2000 calories, but aiming for around 1500
Drink 5-6 bottles of water per day= 80 oz.
Work out daily, except sunday!
Great ideas, everyone! This week must be particularly bad for everyone. I went completely berserk this weekend and ate everything that wasn't nailed down, and the scale shows it. I am back in business today. I'm not sure what was going on this weekend with me.
My 2 cents:
Don't make changes you aren't happy with and can't follow quite happily "forever".
Don't work out every single day unless you really enjoy it and will keep it up.
Don't strictly limit your calories and make yourself miserable.
Have a plan. Stick with it 80% of the time, and you'll be ahead of the game. Don't get derailed and "wait till tomorrow" to get back on track. Get back on track the very next meal.
Now, if I could only follow my own advice!
You are all so great! Yes, we have fallen off the wagon but we will all get back on! Yes, I am motivated again. I ate a banana!!! That is a big accomplishment for me! Welcome to the newcomers and a big "how ya doin'!" to all my old friends here....LET'S GO, GO, GO!!!!
I've been BAD since just before July. I *hope* I'm back on track. Having the girls spend the night at mom's house gave me no excuse to miss the gym this morning. I did almost 50 minutes on the treadmill. Tired, but glad I went.
Now to snocker the eating issues again! Tame the savage sweet tooth!
AAAggghhhhh this diet, weight loss, fitness regime is a killer - how do people develop a love of it all?
Good luck to you all and lets keep eachother motivated - this has been a tough weekend for me as my daughter turned 4 yeasterday and we have had a weekend of celebrations, meals out, picnics etc.... One last meal at lunch time today then back to hard work.
I had a mirena coil fitted last week - I am hoping that that wont stall my weight loss any more than the current fluid retention problems have.
Anyway here are my golden rules.
1) Consume less than 1800 calories a day - as balanced as possible
2) Drink more than 64oz water a day - pref one glass per hour.
3) get a pedometer do 10,000 steps a day min
4)Be honest with yourself weigh and measure food acuratly.
5) Dont let a bad day, weekend or week throw you off track
6)If you weigh every day like me have one day that is your official compare to last week weigh in day.
7) Dont eat after 7pm if you can help it
6)keep your eye on the goal - buy an outfit you want to fit in and look at it every time you are tempted to over eat or wrong eat.
You all got any more 'golden rules'?
Hi Girls- I have been dieting since March...Started Jenny Craig lost about 26 lbs and then joined weight watchers lost around 10more....this has been a bad 2 weeks for me and I am so scared I am going to go back to my old ways....I gained 2.6 2 weeks ago and lost 1 last week..well this weekend I blew it...that is why I cant sleep right now I am so upset with my self decided that I am going back starting now!!!! I cant go back to that place where I was eating and feeling like #@))&! Please support me...Thanks.
Hey Cheyenne, and I will welcome you on this thread. Shoot, I'd love to get myself below or right at 130 by September. Nothing major, just 6-8 pounds depending on which day I weigh and what I've been doing (or not!).
I just had a baby, too (well, 2 years ago...she SAYS she's still a baby, does that count?) and am still trying to get this post-baby weight off. I had some of it off for a while, but it crept back on while I was not paying attention. Not paying attention will get you everytime!!!!
Good luck to you!!!! Gotta run some kiddos to mimi's house now!!! Whoo Hoo! :)
Hey there! I am new here, but totally with you on the clothes situation! None of my clothes fit anymore, and I refuse to buy anymore!!! I just started my "life style" change and exercise routines on Thursday so I have only been at it a few days but already I feel a lot better about myself for making the decision to do it and even sticking with it for 4 days is an accomplishment for me!!!! So, good luck and you can lose 12 pounds by september! Good luck!
Hello lhughes! Now you know what I have been doing with my summer, but baby, I am back! If I read correctly a while ago, you were a "loser!" Congrats! Get back to keeping track and lets get on that weight loss train together!!!
Suzi, you and I could be twins!!!! Go get 'em and lose some of that weight. I'm with you, ain't gonna buy no more new clothes UNLESS they are smaller clothes. Having no clothes that fit is sometimes the biggest promoter of weight loss.
I'm hanging on a plateau right now, mostly because I've not been paying close enough attention.
Good for you getting back into action.
Believe me, I know exactly how you feel!
Stick with WW, do the elliptical daily (no excuses) and sneak in a walk whenever possible and you can very easily be down 12 pounds by September.
You really can pull it off!!!
Thank you for responding! I just filled out my tracker and I am getting motivated....I want to feel good about myself. I have been so idle this summer that I feel so out of shape, so doing the 10 min on my elliptical gave me a lift too! I will check in everyday with all of you to keep me honest.
Congrats on your weight loss! If I can do 12 pounds by Sept when I go back to school, I will be a happy camper!!
I also belong to WW online. I joined 6 1/2 weeks ago and have lost12 pounds (I have another weigh-in tomorrow). I purposely made my weigh-ins on Mondays, because I have a tendency to eat more on the weekends, so that way I am forced to be good. So far it has worked for me!
You have 6 weeks before school starts, so you can very well get a jump start now and still be able to go back to work a "NEW YOU"!!!
