In this case I believe that "she" might be a "he" and in many cases truck (or other) drivers are not home at least once/day. I know many of them who are away from home for a week or more at a time.
I'm sorry you felt like you were being "attacked"; that was not my intention at all and I'm not here to argue with you. I pretty well know what a trucker's/driver's life is like because I've lived it ...
I assume she is home at least once a day which would make shakes possible and all you need is a spoon to stir the powder in some water or milk...
I think she is looking for ideas and I just outlined what worked for me. I never said she had to follow to a T any of it. And she is asking for help over the next couple months...
She said she drinks lots of soda so she could replace that with water and probably get pretty close to a gallon, which again I didnt say she had to do.
I think instead of attacking others ideas you should understand there is more than your way and allow others to share their story incase it may help another with out tearing it down. You know this girl that is just asking for ideas as well as I do so how do you know what will work best for her...
This is a lifestyle for me. I dont understand how a 25 minute workout 5 days a week is not something that could be a lifetime routine...
Congratulations on your weight loss... I'm glad that routine is working for you.
The diet and exercise program has to be tailored to the individual's needs. The original poster spends long hours driving and does not have access to equipment/ingredients for making shakes, etc. Aside from that, that's not a routine that one can stick with over a lifetime, which is what we're aiming for.
A gallon of water might also be overdoing it for someone who must drive for a living and does not have constant access to a restroom.
Prepackaged nuts are a good way to make sure one is eating only a single serving, as it's easy to overeat when eating out of a bag or can.
Nothing that says lose without working out, especially that much weight, is safe. I am doing T25 and shakeology by Beachbody and have lost 17 lbs and 3.5 inches in 3 weeks. Shakeology is an all natural nutritional powder that my naturopath approved for me. T25 works me hard but I also do squats, pushups or core twists after sitting a long time. I also got my self on strict eating. Shakeology for breakfast. Power greens with varied fruit and veggies depending what is in fridge that day with sardines, salmon or chicken (about 3-4 ozs). Snack I buy those prepackaged cashew packs at TJs and eat one of those about halfway between lunch and dinner. Dinner I have some protien (3-4 ozs) with about a cup or two of veggies. And if I need something sweet I go for a tbsp of peanut butter. I really dont eat much for processed foods. My eating hasn't changed much but I am watching how much goes in my mouth now. I aim for 1400-1500 calories. I also drink a gallon of water a day. I started at 248 lbs exactly 3 weeks ago and weighed myself at 232 on Saturday, I am 5'11". I am also using lots of support. Team Beachbody gives you a coach (I luckily already knew one from my daughter's preschool) and if you get the right coach they organize challenge groups and support groups.
Good luck! And congrats on your upcoming wedding!!!
Thanks for your advice i will surly start taking action towards maintaining healthy life style.
Often when we feel tired and out of energy, it's because we're dehydrated and simply need water. A good drink of ice cold water can give you as much energy as a sugary soda can (and that includes diet soda).
Since you're spending long hours driving, take a cooler with you and stock it with cut up veggies and fruit, as well as Greek yogurt cups. An apple will satisfy that sweet tooth just as well as a candy bar, for about 1/3 the calories. Make it really healthy and get some individual serving peanut butter cups and use them (or the Greek yogurt) for dipping apples and/or other veggies. Try to limit fruit to one to two servings/day, as fruit tends to raise blood sugar levels, which in turn raises insulin levels and since you can't work off the food you're eating right away, insulin will shuttle it right into fat cells.
You can also snack on small servings of nuts and seeds, while you're driving, as they are loaded with protein, but do watch the portion sizes, because they are also loaded with fat.
When you stop to eat, choose restaurants that provide grilled, broiled or baked meats, as opposed to fried. Choose steamed or roasted veggies without heavy cream, butter or cheesy sauces. If need be, carry a couple of your own favorite spices to season your food... I carry cinnamon, when I think I might be ordering oatmeal at a restaurant, because all they usually have is cinnamon/sugar mixture and I don't eat sugar.
thank guys i will try my best
i do drink a lot of sodas(because of long hours of driving, need some energy/sugar)
also about to take membership at 24/7 fitness so i can go to gym anytime i want.
i will cut down on sodas, candies and other unhealthy stuff. That alone should help
I assume that you are a truck driver, or something similar, so I'd suggest as Mary said and cut out sugary foods and most products made from white flour, such as white bread, pastries, cookies, cakes, etc. If you have to eat bread, opt for whole grain bread. Switch from regular pasta to whole grain, from white rice to brown rice. If you drink sodas, stop... make water your drink of choice (that alone can help you lose quite a few pounds).
Eat lots of veggies, both raw and cooked. If you take snacks with you, opt for raw veggies with a small amount of peanut butter or hummus, an apple with peanut butter or a piece of cheese. Make sure you have lean protein with every meal/snack you eat.
Simply cutting out processed foods will go a long way toward helping you lose weight, though I agree that 30-40 lbs is a bit ambitious for only 3-4 months, unless you really tow the line.
Whenever you have a chance to take a break, get in a brisk walk. It doesn't have to be miles long, but should be at least 10 minutes. Crunches, leg lifts, lunges, squats, etc will help get rid of the tummy and will also help with the thigh issue. Also, do a search for thigh exercises and you'll come up with a ton of them; some you might even be able to implement while driving or when taking breaks. Always be safe.
oh and don't try to lose 30-40Ibs in only 3-4 months!! it's so unhealthy!!! the healthy way is to lose 8pounds a month!! no 30 or 40!!!
i don't even think that pills is a healthy way. all you need is a healthy diet with no sugar and lots of bread. Star with cardio! It's the best way to lose weight and tone your body! (don't run all the time with the same speed. first slowly after quickly and aaim slowly etc) Try dance! Zumba and cardio dance will help a lot!!! you can try pilates and yoga! you'll lose weight, fat and you'll having fun at the same time!! try this and if you won't see results( i'm sure that you'll see) then you can go to pills...but no now!!!
