How to stop weekend overeating

Has anyone got any strategies that they use to stop overeating on the weekends?
During the week, i am focused on healthy eating and exercise and i'm really motivated. On the weekend i tend to get down and overeat and cut back on exercise. It is too excessive but enough to make me feel blah.
I'd love to hear how others tackle eating out, dinner parties and veging out weekend!

what I have learned is don't isn't on the couch and binge watch tv. Even though it is fun, it is so bad for you. Do anything to get active. Now I'm only 14, but I have picked up a few things. Before I was super unhealthy. The only time I workout put was in gym, if I even dressed out. So I decided to start running. Run for a minute then walk for a minute. It has boosted my energy and sofar I have lost almost 8 pounds. Hope this helps!

hi i hope challenges are conquered however i'm still in battle with weekends i think it is alcohol beverages when out with the Band, and environment then opens doors to more sweet stuff, all throughout the day always nibbles and never full meals so i tell myself i haven't had any lunch or dinner so snacking here and there really isn't that much... well i am continually gaining weight but i go to gym and burn 500 cal in one session, have about 4 sessions per week and each weekend i tell myself i will have Control, i will have Control but then, one thing or another, a piece of birthday cake or a flavored coffee on the road sets off something in my mind that reason and logic escapes me and a raging over indulgent monster emerges from within that takes over and convinces me it is OK and i try to steer away from temptations but can't hide from that it's all around everywhere, so ya, it is Easier Said than Done.  So... this weekend another go at it.... and I'm telling myself, i will have Control... i will have Control!!!!  ~d.

There can be a lot of unplanned activities on the weekends, which can be a problem if you are unprepared.

Many people do well with the structure of the weekdays, and fall apart when there is a lot of unstructured time and opportunity to overeat.

Ranae has lots of good ideas above.   Mentally rehearse your itinerary for the itinerary for the weekend, and brainstorm ideas for food substitutions, and look for fun activities that will keep you out of the mindless snacking mode.

I weigh in on Monday mornings, usually.  Knowing that weigh in is coming helps control thoughts of unwise choices on the weekends.

Don't deprive yourself of foods you are really craving...but you don't really need to eat a lot of an item to feel as if you have indulged yourself.  Split a dessert if you are out with someone.  Share entrees.

Look for fun weekend activities that can help you stay fit.  Think outside the box.  Try new things you've always wanted to do.

Here's a few strategies I've implemented to help with overeating on the weekends.

1.  Keep busy with activities - The more I am outside and involved in various activities, the more I do not think about food.

2.  Plan your weekend menu prior to the weekend.  That way you know what you're planning on eating ... it sets the expectations for yourself.  You may want to try grilling out with lean meats and incorporating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables.

3.  Try to eat foods that keep you feeling full longer or provides you with enough volume to stave off hunger.  An example is to eat proteins (lean meats, protein bar, protein shake) OR eating watermelon (1 cup is 46 calories) or green beans (1 cup is 34 calories) ... so indulge!

4.  Think positively and remind yourself why you are doing this.  It may help to remember that making appropriate choices on the weekend is a way to reward yourself and be kind to you!

5.  If you're going out to dinner, search online or call ahead for some healthy menu options.  Explain to them you would like to visit their establishment but are on a plan to lose weight and eat healthy.  Ask them what menu items they recommend in helping you succeed.

6.  If it is a dinner party, just enter into a little casual conversation about what the meal plans are.  You have many options.  You can plan your calories accordingly around the menu, you can explain to the host that you are losing weight and need to eat healthy and ask if they mind if you bring your own entree, etc.  Most people are thrilled to help you ...

Hope this helps ... please let me know how it goes; will be anxious to hear!

Supportive (((Hugs)))
