I have to lose weight right away after the birth of my baby!!

I am going to breast feed, but with bad timing my wedding is 2.5 months after the birth of my son!! He is due in August any suggestions on what I can do right after he is born without interupting my healing process or breastfeeding!

There are some safe, natural methods out there.  One thing you can do in addition to what others have mentioned is to take a tablespoon of coconut oil in the morning and one tablespoon in the afternoon.  It's a natural metabolism booster.  I've been using it for a while now and it does work.  Good luck to you.

These last few months is the months you will gain more weight, I would suggest, watch your calories now. I know you are eating for two, but still, My first kid, I was young, and thought I could eat what I want and that I would lose it after I had my baby, I was so wrong, I gained 60 pounds and after the birth only lost 25, I was so shocked, but my second son I only gained 25 pounds, I watched what I ate, I exercise more. I lost more of my own fat. and after the birth, I lost all the birth weight, dont get me wrong, I was still overweight, but I didn't have baby fat,, just my own,,, I have gained a lot more over the years. my youngest is 8, but I am on my way to losing it all.
Good luck,

Won't everybody at the wedding know you had a kid? So why are you worried about losing weight for this thing?  Color me confused.

Just restrict calories slightly (low-carb is healthiest) and get more exercise. You'll be fine. Really.

Oh.. sorry, I almost forgot.  Another reason for the six week rule is because intense workouts can slow the healing process.. and cause you to bleed more (incase you don't know already, you will bleed for quite some time after having your baby).  Okay, I'm done.  Farewell.  :)

You should be able to start exercising roughly six weeks postpartum.. however, easy walking is always good.. this is something you can do even before six weeks (the reason for the 'six week rule' is to prevent any abdominal trauma, as well as trauma to the uterus, etc..).  If at all possible, just try and stay away from vigorous exercises right off the bat.. it is smart to ease into things.  Overall, just listen to your body.. if you experience any pain or discomfort (particularly in the abdominal and pelvic regions), stop immediately.  I know after having my son, I was very eager to start losing weight.. and just like you plan on doing, I was breast feeding.  Really, the best advice I can give to you is to eat foods high in nutrients and start doing cardio workouts.. i.e. walking, very mild aerobics, etc.  Eat smaller, more frequent meals.. this will help keep your metabolism going.  Also, be sure to take that prenatal vitamin!  This is VERY important.. just as in pregnancy, if you aren't getting enough vitamins and minerals, your body will suffer.  If you ask me, it seems more noticeable when breastfeeding.. I even started to lose some of my hair (it became veerry thin and broke off very easily) after getting a tad lazy with taking my vitamin.  Another thing is that you must remember to account for atleast five pounds when breastfeeding.. this not only is for the weight of the milk, but also because there are fat cells that help produce the milk itself.  Anyway, I hope all this helps.. and an applaud to you for breastfeeding.. it's a beautiful thing.. not to mention, much cheaper and much, much healthier than formula feeding.  Breastfeeding does help pull in and tighten some of those abdominal muscles, and you do burn lots of calories.. some women notice overall it's easier to lose weight after weaning your baby from the breast.. that all just depends on the individual, I suppose.  Okay, enough of my babbling.. again, I hope this helps.. and good luck!  Like I said before.. just LISTEN TO YOUR BODY.  Take Care.

You are not going to lose ALL of the pregnancy weight in 2.5 months, as I'm sure you know. But what I would suggest is talk to your doctor. Ask her/him what the minimum amount of calories is that you should have while breastfeeding. Just stay clear of anything like nutra-sweet or diet anything. You want to stay as natural as possible when you're breastfeeding. I'm not sure when you're allowed to start exercising after you've given birth, but that would be your best bet, I think. Good luck! And keep in mind that pregnancy weight takes awhile to come off. I know you want to look your best for your wedding, but you'll have just had a baby...and you need to keep that in mind!
