I found the yoga for weight loss at Walmart -- cost $10 -- well worth it.

Dancing is great -- you don't have to go out to do, just turn on your favorite radio station or cd.

Yes, I'm trying to lose weight.  I was diagnosed a couple of years ago with hypothyroidism, which causes weight gain and/or inability to lose. While trying to talk my doctor into believing that I was really sick, I gained about 30 pounds in less than 3 months.  Now, even with a proper diagnosis and medication, I'm struggling to lose the weight.  Hypothyroidism also causing extreme fatigue and I work a pretty grueling schedule, so that makes it tough also.

It's not necessary to go to a gym -- you can do things at home.  There are a lot videos that you can watch online for free, or go to your local library and see what they have.

OR just tune your radio to your favorite music and dance --- I used to do that all the time (never mind that I have no rhythm and can't dance at all).  I kept my weight in check that way for years when hubby worked nights.  The problem started when he switched to days and got home about the same time I do AND he doesn't like listening to the radio OR my kind of music..................LOL  I do have an MP3 player and sometimes put on the headphones and go for it...........

Also you can try "The Biggest Loser - Yoga for Weight Loss" --- it's awesome and if done regularly, will help take the weight off..............

Well I have the exercise diary and use that I had the food diary I just wasnt committed but Ill give it another shot. For some reason I find step aerobics easy for me to get up and do, for me to go to the gym for some reason is hard, My mom has always told me that if you can do something for a straight month is easy after that so my plan is to do step for the first few weeks and i have blocks to up the step if it gets to easy and I also have videos I might alternate with once I get use to the daily exercise. Thanks soo much for your support

Yes, we are still doing the Sunday weigh-in and will be happy to have you join us.

Your exercise sounds great to start.  Once you get going and get used to daily exercise, don't forget to change it around on a regular basis, or your body will get used to doing the same things and it will no longer be a challenge.  That makes the risk of hitting a plateau that much greater.

At 25 you are still pretty young, but if you are in the obese category, you run the risk of health issues down the road -- such as heart attack, stroke, diabetes, etc that can make life so much more difficult.  I wish *I* had taken care of myself when I was 25!!

Have you started the food diary yet?  That will help you keep track of the calories you are eating and will let you know if you are getting enough protein, fiber, carbs, etc.  In addition, the exercise tracker will help you keep a record of the calories you are burning, so you will be able to compare what you take in, with what you are burning to see if you need to make changes.

Best of luck to you.

I will and ill being weighting in with you on sundays if you still do that cause i was weighing myself everyday sometimes even more and well thats frustrating. So do you think my plan of exercizing is to much or too little? I know I am doing it for myself, Im trying anyways the truth is that for some reason im very comfterble at my weight i know im at an obese level and im getting older so i need to think about my health i just am so confident most the time, dont get me wrong i have my days where i feel discusting and well i dont shop for cloths much unless its black pants and i know ill feel better once i get some of the weight off.

Hey, sweetie --- don't do it for your MIL (mother in law) --- do it for YOU.....yes, your MIL is concerned about you, but you need to not worry about that and do what works for you.

My suggestion is that you go for it -- do what you can for exercise, eat a healthy diet, but don't starve yourself -- go girl, give it your best shot and I'm betting that you can do whatever you set your mind to.......just make sure you don't go for anything "drastic"....

Please post on a regular basis here, so you can let us know what/how your are doing.

(hugs)

20 lbs in 2 months with that amount of exercise might be a bit ambitious, but in any case: 2 months of that and you'll sure make fantastic progress :)

Keep it up!

What your doing sounds good but I'm not sure about the 20 pounds in two months. Maybe 16 at the most. Step aerobics is good for you but I wouldn't worry about your legs getting bulky. I go up and down the stairs all day, do my elliptical, bike, treadmill, squats and lunges and I'm not bulky. Keep it up!
