Is there room for one more?

by twehner5, Oct 26, 2008 07:40PM
Hi. I'm pretty new here and hoping to join you guys. Got room for one more? What do I need to do to fit in? I've tried all the wrong ways to lose weight and I know the right way (healthful eating/exercise/proper rest). I need friends to help me get it off and keep it off. Am I in the right place to lend support and be supported?

Tomorrow's the day. On Mondays I take bodysculpt at the YMCA and we do at least 50 crunches. I've never counted. I'll try to count tomorrow - it might help keep my mind off the pain!

Welcome to the Weight Loss & Dieting Community; we're so happy to have you here and THRILLED you will be joining us!

You fit in already .. just coming here and posting and participating!!  You are definitely in the right place to share knowledge, receive and lend support, keep ourselves motivated and learn new behaviors.  We're all in this together and working for the same goals.

The road is not always easy and it takes some hard work and commitment, but it is most do-able.  And .. is most enjoyable with friends and partners!

See you have a head start and come prepared with your weight, exercise and water consumption trackers .. very well done!!!  You may also want to implement a mood tracker as it can help us identify periods of time when we eat more than others.

MedHelp is supporting us and working on a food journal that will be revealed soon; it's very exciting!  So glad to have you here to partake and be a part of this.

The last challenge ended today, but we will be starting another one very soon .. within 2 weeks.  It will take us through November and Thanksgiving and we have some special ideas to help with that holiday.  Additional challenges will be for December and Christmas and then a Big Bang to start us off for New Years!

Keep checking in daily until then as we're asking and answering questions, sharing and giving, supporting and motivating daily.

(((Hugs))) and the Warmest Welcome,
Ranae

Thank you for the warm welcome! I'll definitely need those timely challenges that are coming up! Thanks for the suggestion of the mood tracker. I'll look into that - until I started participating in MH, I wasn't feeling optimistic AT ALL about getting my weight off AGAIN and keeping it off. I really am excited about help and support.

Thanks again for welcoming me. Hugs back!

Well .. I believe you're here for a reason .. to Succeed ..

Here's a little something that I liked .. it helped me ...

Eliminate the language that allows for excuse
- Not if, but when
- Not try, but will
- Not hope, but belief
then it will not be a dream, it will be reality … live into it!

Our worst fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?” Actually, who are you not to be? Nelson Mandela

I BELIEVE IN YOU!!!

To be honest, I'm touched, but scared. That kind of belief (in me) scares me. There is a part of me (that I am going to choose to overcome!) that wishes to just bow out rather than try, fail, and let you down...

But, no! I AM going to not only lose my extra weight, but keep it off somehow this time. This time, I have friends.

by TrudieC, Oct 27, 2008 07:21AM
Welcome.  We look forward to getting to know you!

Many times we are afraid of our success ... I know I was.  First, you will not let me down .. there are no expectations!  I simply believe and know that you have the power inside you to be successful if you elect to exercise it.

The only person you affect when you fail is you .. no one else.  I had to come to grips with that and learn to care about myself enough to want to succeed for me.  To take care of me in the same manner that I took care of everyone else.  And, why wouldn't I take care of me?  I asked myself .. "Do I think people should treat me nice?"  The answer was obviously, Yes.  So, I had to ask myself why would I do any less for me than I did for others?

Remember, you only fail if you quit trying.  Just take baby steps and don't be afraid.  This can be the most exciting and adventurous journey of your life .. and here among friends, no pressures .. only love and support.

(((Hugs)))
