Losing Weight

As of today, i have put myself on a diet. I would like to lose 25 pounds by december. Is that a good goal to set? I am 5 foot and 140 pounds. I have never been this size before and i am ready to lose a little of it. If you have any suggestions i would love to hear them. I started walking at the park and writing everything i eat down. I bought some fruit but i'm not real big on veggies. And also, is Tea a good drink to replace Coke's?

Thank you for reading this!

Hi, I wanted to let you know that diets don't work, u will just regain the weight and more at some point, u need to change the way u eat for life, u don't need to give up all the yummies either a treat once a week isnot going to hinder any weight loss, weight watchers , Inches they are great places and resources to go to , they may feel likle there expensive , but I am telling u they work, I have a friend who weight watchers got her to her goal and then some and she has stayed that way for years, I myself went with inches and I tell u it was amazing how quickly I lost weight,, I am not a very big person and needed to lose 25 pounds after my first and I lost 7 pounds the first week, also , green tea helps clean you out and drink water as much as u can add crystal light if u get bored of it , I drank it my whole pregnancy and eat the same as before and 4 days after my son was born I was back to 120 and in my skinny jeans, water is your best friend, also if ur not big on veggies , try addin a little cheese to stemed veggies, or get the drinks that have 2 servings if veggies per one cup and just gulp it , they are good for u and u can just chug it , but they really don't taste that bad!! eating baby spinach in a fav salad , mine is spinich , ice burg lettuce, with cucumber and calorie wise Italien dressing , a tip I picked up through inces and I swear by it , it will help u lose weight, also eat smaller portions, no more meat than the size or your hand and a small portion of potatoes, veggies and fruit eat as much as needed, also eating cucumber before u go to bed helps in your weightloss. I am sorrry for bombarding, this is just a huge thing for me as I have been bigger than I ever wanted to be and then lost the weight and understand how it wears on the self esteem even if it's just a few pounds, hope u can take a little from this.

I think your goal is realistic.  Perhaps you may want to focus on smaller goals of 2 lbs or 5 lbs and celebrate many successes rather than focusing on 25 lbs as the entire number can sometimesbe psychologically overwhelming. It will take the pressure off you greatly and doing this way can help you stay on the right track.

I would say go for it..have a plan to implement like exercise, healthy food and of course for motivation and support you can always count on us!

Hi,
I was just looking through the weight loss forums and I saw your post. I just wanted to share a little success story with you. About 2 months ago My wife was feeling a little unattractive because she gained a little extra wieght. I was all for it. It didn't sound like a bad idea at all. However, I wanted her to remain healthy because sometimes these wieght loss products can be questionable. Anyway, I went to my doctor who specializes in herbs. He told me a gentle, effective colon cleanse could reduce her weight any where from 10 to 25 pounds. He recommended the ACOG herbal master body and colon cleanse. I took this product home to my wife and I must say, that stuff is the best thing I ever gave my wife. My wife started taking the acog and lost about 23 pounds. In addition to her high energy levels, I noticed a big difference in her mid section which has made me a very happy man. I even started taking it my self and we are just amazed at the results. I just wanted to pass this on to incourage you on your weight loss goals.

That sounds like a realistic goal. BUT, you really have to work at it!

I lost 25 pounds in 3 months on Weight Watcher's.

Journaling what you eat is a good start. Cut out the junk food, and pay attention to your portion sizes. It's too bad you don't like veggies, because you can really benefit from them.

Tea is a good drink as long as you're not adding sugar to it. Use a sugar substitute, such as Splenda.

Try to stick with whole grains, low fat and fat free milk and dairy products, proteins, such as lean meats (chicken, turkey, beef, fish), complex carbs, and of course the fruits and veggies.

I suggest that you scroll down and read the threads below. They will definitely help you out.

Keep up the walking and if possible you may eventually want to add more exercising.
