Male breast, Can weight lose help ?

Dear Experts, I am 29 years old male from India, Weight 83 kg, Height 166 cm. From the age of 11 i am suffering from gynecomastia (chest is like a woman). My parents are not educated and they don't know anything about that and they thought it was due to i am fatty for that age than other children of same age. Till now i am feeling shy to remove my shirt while going to swimming pool, and in front of friends, relatives. When i come to know that this is due to enlargement of breast tissue (Gynecomastia), i spoke to my parents about surgery. But they are scared and they said that try to reduce my weight rather than going for surgery option. In another 2.5 months i am getting married. I am always worrying about how can i tell this to my future wife after marriage ? is there any possible ways to get rid of this problem ? Can reducing my weight to 66 kg through exercises, following GM diets help me ? I am so depressed about this. FYI, I already joined a gym and started working on cardio exercises to reduce my weight. Expecting your expertise advice to get out this problem. Thank you.

There are some medications that are used to treat breast cancer that can be tried, though they would be used off label.  These include tamoxifen (Soltamox) and raloxifene (Evista), here in the U.S.  Another is Danazol.  I don't know if they would be available in your country or not.  Some of these drugs are quite potent and may have unwanted side effects. Be sure to discuss all of that with your doctor prior to taking them.

The other option is the surgery.  You should go to your doctor and get checked.  Sometimes, gynecomastia by fat deposits, but won't necessarily go away with diet and exercise.  Mastectomy can be done endoscopically, which is much less invasive than a normal surgery.

I agree with gymdandee, if this is going to affect your life, get the surgery done.

If you truly have gynecomastia then the only thing that will help is surgery. My son had gynecomastia and he had surgery and looks great. If this is going to mess with your life, then have the surgery!
