Need Help!

by Skylynns_mom, Oct 10, 2007 12:00PM
I have never been a "small" girl.  I am 5'1 and the lowest I have ever weighed was probably 130.  When i got pregnant with my daughter I was 140.....when i had her i was 201.  Initally after i had her I dropped down to about 170.  She is now almost 2 and i just keep getting fatter and fatter and dont know why.  According to the doctor charts and what not someone my age and height should weight between 97-132 lbs......i weigh 210 and gaining.  I cant seem to drop the weight no matter what i do. I used to drink tons of diet coke, about 2-3 litters a day(or more....i know iknow thats crazy) and have since cut down to 0-20oz a day which is a huge step for me.  I guess I would like to know the best most affective way to lose weight all over.  I am porportioned well......everything is larger then it should be.  My arms and legs bother me the most though.  Any help or any little hints would be great I feel like I have tried everything.

Did you know when caffeine gets into the blood it makes you crave sugar?
I have a suggestion, why don't you go on a low carb diet? You know I personally do not believe in low fat diets. If you take a look at all the low fat or fat free products on the market they are all high in carbs. You may be glucose intolerant or may have a thyroid disorder or you simply don't know how to eat. Anyways...you did not mention what you eat..your daily diet. I think it'd help because right now I'm thinking you just like food and eat like crazy. Here is the deal:

Eat protein, nothing more, do this for 2-3 weeks and you'll lose the weight fast. Stop drinking coke even if it is diet and drink water instead. I would not recommend that you go on a low carb diet for too long but high protein diets are great when it comes to giving your body the push that it needs to accelerate your metabolism. Most people think low calorie diets are the best cure for obesity. Perhaps this method works for them. What worked for me was a high protein diet with which I lost more than 20 pounds..not kidding. Once ketosis kicks in you will have more energy and will feel no desire to drink coke or eat any carb containing food. It is hard...but it can be achievable.

Try not to eat the skin of your chicken even though there there are plenty of fatty acids in there. Don't go more than 6 hours w/o eating anything. You can have eggs, bacon (make sure it is not cured with sugar..it says it on the label) meat, poultry..any source of protein is great. I'm no against eating veggies. I myself eat them everyday. But if your want to lose up to 8 lbs on the first week I suggest you eat basically protein and nothing more.

Remember, the body burns carbs first and if you have plenty stored then it will never run out of them and therefore will not use stored fat. Carbs are our primary source of energy. However, excess carbs in our body can be devastating since the fat gets stored and you will never get rid of it. Also, lack of water makes the cells retain the fat to keep functioning in the presence of dehydration. Stop drinking coke and add water and you'll lose weight.

Good luck

I have pretty much cut soda out of my diet.  And to be honest I dont really like food, I dont eat much at all.....i'm lucky if i eat 3 times a day.  I love veggies and fruit.  But hey I'll try your way, i have nothing to lose but the weight.

I've had great luck with this even as a hypothyroid person. Eat 1200 calories a day. 2-3 protein 2 lowfat dairy 3 fruit 3-5 vegetable 5-6 WHOLE grain. Don't eat WHITE food (white bread, white rice, sugar, potatoes)  calorie free drinks are free. If you do any cardio add 200 calories to your diet that day.  (Before you try a carb free diet make sure you're not hypothyroid. The slower metabolism also slows down digestion and causes low blood sugar spikes. Ketosis won't help you in this situation.)
